Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving weekend is upon us (in Canada) and I am amazed at how fast this year has gone, considering the first half seemed to drag on and on as we all waited to move here to Nova Scotia. I am so incredibly thankful and blessed to be here. For the first time ever, I feel like we are home. You know that wonderful feeling you get where it just feels right and you never want to leave, and your house could be a box for all you care, it is just where God has placed you and you truly want to be. There is not one day that goes by that I don't thank God for this home we live in, the piece of property we live on, the church we have found, and just for being alive and here as a family.

I often drive by the motel which was home to my dh for almost 4 months, and it stirs up all those feelings of anxiety, worry and the whole stream of unsure feelings that we were doing the right thing. Sometimes I still wonder, especially when I think about how much oil is going to cost us this winter, and how we can afford a woodstove, etc, etc. Not to mention the troubled economic times we are entering! Food is already very expensive here, and so I am trying to be more frugal and thrifty and the kids are just going to have to realize we are going to be making more things from scratch. I don't think they will complain too much as long as most things involve cooking with chocolate chips!

I am so thankful to my friends, both in real life and in this big world of blogging, who help support me and offer a shoulder and an ear to voice what is on my heart and mind. It is wonderful to have such great friends, especially when you may not have met in person, but you just are put together for a reason. I miss my friends back in Ontario very, very much, but I never feel truly far away from them, which is great! I do miss my family, adn I am going to miss them this weekend, as they take the whole family picture without us there, for the first time in over 10 years!! But we shall take our own picture here, and that will start a new tradition. I am happy to host our very first Thanksgiving in our new home, but must admit, I wanted to pack the kids up in the car and drive back yesterday! If it wasn't for the fact that they are sick with colds and ear infections, and also the fact I would have to drive through Montreal myself, I might have just scootched on out of here!

I plan on returing to blogging now, as I am getting into a routine and miss blogging so much! I am not sure how often I will be able to post, but I am looking forward to diving back in! I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!

I took these two pictures while waiting and waiting for this to sail by......

It is the QE 2, on her last sailing out of Halifax. She will soon be retired and permanently docked in Dubai as a floating hotel. I am glad she will be saved and not sunk! We had hoped to see the Queen Mary 2 come in last week, but were busy nursing ear infections and feeling crummy!!

The next picture I am not proud of. It is a terrible picture really, but we had such a blast playing on the beach, until this happened. This was the day before the hurricane.

I didn't get out of there fast enough, the water went right over my boots!! From now on, I will be the photographer, thank you very much!

Oh Ellie! It is sooo good to "see" you again!!! I thought you had disappeared! I have missed your posts!

How are things going with school? We are doing o.k.! I have had to make a few changes and other than the dreaded ALGEBRA I think we will be o.k. I had a total melt down the other night concerning Nathan's math, but prayerfully the Lord will get us through!

Looking forward to more posts!

Happy belated Thanksgiving :) I've been absent from the blog world for a while...for reasons which you are aware of. Just wanted to say that I am thankful for your friendship. I've also got something on my blog for you! xo

Hi, Ellie. So glad that you are so happy with where God has placed your family. It sure looks beautiful there on the East coast - clear across this big, beautiful country of ours! Belated Thanksgiving to you & yours. Good to see you posting again. I'm going to be coming back to my old blog soon, too. Blessings to you, Ellie!
