Home at last!

We made it!! We even survived our drive around Montreal, heck, all of Quebec was scary actually! We got here let's see, on the first of June. We didn't get to leave until after 5 PM on the Friday as Mike's van needed a lot more work than we thought, and had to have an axle cut off and new brakes, ugh, to the tune of $1900.00. It rained the whole way here, until the Sunday when we were coming into Nova Scotia. It is beautiful here, absolutely breath taking, and I totally feel like this is home!!

We stayed in the Best Western Chocolate lake for the first week while we painted and waited for the movers, who got here on the 4th. We had to rent a cube van, as their truck couldn't get into the driveway. By the end of the week, we were so glad to be home in our own house, and cooking our own meals! Our first home made meal was peanut butter and jam!!!! Yum, it never tasted so good before!!

I am totally in love with our new house. Mike was so worried I would hate it, and I just am so happy to be here, and be a family again. We are still unpacking, as Mike had a potentially serious injury at work last week, when a big overhead door came crashing down on his wrists. I think God must have caught that door and taken much of the brunt of it, as even though it looks awful, nothing was broken and he didn't need stitches. Thank you God!

The kids love it here too, and now that we finally have internet, they feel much more connected to their friends. We have not met anyone here yet. Our neighbours are very elusive and well, I am not sure what they are up to. We live back off the road down a long driveway, so we can't really meet people out for walks and so on. But the people here are friendly, and the driving is great! Everwhere I go, people call me "Love", or "dear" or "Hon"!! It is really nice!

We have been out touring around. We have been to Peggy's Cove a couple of times. We went yesterday, and nearly blew away, it was a quick scrabble over the rocks! We go to the beach 5 minutes away as often as we can. We have been into Halifax of course, and hiked on numerous ATV trails on our own road! We have pink lady slippers growing on our property!!! And all I can smell out my door is sweetgrass!! That is the best scent of all, adn it reminds me so much of my favourite place, Manitoulin Island. And I went to a plant sale and stocked up on plants with nowhere to put them yet!

There are forest fires on the other side of Dartmouth, and in Tantallon, where we were through yesterday. The fires there started after we had gone through the area on our way to Peggy's Cove. I have not heard yet this morning about how they are managing, and if people have lost homes, but they need prayer especially because the wind is so strong.

I hope to be updating more regularily again, I have missed blogging and checking up with everyone! We finally figured out our internet last night, and if I can ever get Robyn off this thing, maybe I can have a turn!!
